I have used this simple recipe for years in my bath or my daughter’s bath. We both enjoy the scent and it’s quite relaxing.

In a mason jar, or any glass jar that can be sealed shut, add the following ingredients. Quantities will need to be adjusted depending on the size of your jar and the strength of sent you prefer, remember with essential oils, more is not necessarily better.

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1 cup of sea salt or Himalayan salt
  • 10-15 drops of organic lavender essential oil ( eg, doTerra oils are very high quality. Can be find on Amazon or doTerra)
  • 5 drops of sweet orange essential oil (optional)
  • Blend together well and store in a tightly sealed container.

In bath tub full of water, I add 2-3 tablespoons (or 1/4 cup for an adult) in the bath water for a child (reduce the amount significantly if it’s a baby tub, eg 1/4 teaspoon).

A few words of caution
:
Synthetic scents are toxic and carcinogenic, you do not want these to enter the pores of your skin or breathe them in. You want to get high quality essential oils, preferably organic, in your local health food store. Watch this video.

Essential oils are potent and have been used for centuries as natural remedies. Do not over do it, and carefully educate yourself about the uses and benefits of each oil. The rarer the plant from which the oil is extracted from, the more costly the oil.
